Have you heard of the cronut? It’s a combination of a croissant and donut. And NYC is going crazy over it. There are news articles about fakers and even a black market for this new pastry. The 200 cronuts made each day sell out in minutes after the 8am opening. Some patrons are waiting 2 hours to get their fix. Created by Chef Dominique Ansel and launched May 10th, 2013, the sweet has become a sensation. Fascinating.
