End of the Rainbow – Tracie Bennett

Tracie Bennett’s performance in End of the Rainbow is one of the best performances I have seen. She portrays Judy Garland in the play, but then sings Judy’s songs live from “Talk of the Town”, the show within a show.  Don’t know how she does it.

Still reeling from the magnitude of her performance. The play is set during the last year of Judy Garland’s life. The extensive work and detailed preparation are clear, leading to an incredible, exhasting, and inspired performance. Currently playing at the Ahmanson Theatre through April 21st.

If you were born after June 22nd, 1969 you never had the chance to see Judy Garland perform live. This is the closest you will get.
