500 Days of Summer

“This is a story of boy meets girl, but you should know upfront, this is not a love story.”

Back in 2009, 500 Days of Summer was released. Ended up becoming the “breakout indie hit of the summer” according to The New York Observer. It tells the tale of Tom and Summer, and their entire 500 days in a relationship. The film is presented in a nonlinenar fashion. It jumps around in time, offering different perspectives at every turn. Destined to become a modern classic. Sort of Annie Hall for a new generation. It also elevated the careers of both Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel to new heights. And, the soundtrack is excellent. Surprising, moving, and memorable.
