Girls is a new HBO series. In the pilot episode the main character Hannah declares to her parents (who cut her off financially), “I think I may be the voice of my generation. Or at least, a voice, of a generation.” Lena Dunham stars, creates, writes, directs and produces the new series. And she is 24.
Girls is clearly not for everyone due to the provocative themes and graphic depictions of sex. The series is frank in it’s approach. And audiences are divided. However, coincidentally, it does offer a fresh, new voice. Bold, stark, and vibrant.
